Payouts by international transfer

If international transfer is available for your country or region, it’ll be shown as an option when you add a payout method.

What is an international transfer?

An international transfer is an electronic payment that sends funds in a currency different from your local currency. This type of transfer comes from a bank outside your country.

Fees to consider

Receiving an international transfer may come with fees:

  • Your bank: May charge fees for accepting foreign currency
  • Intermediary banks: If funds pass through another bank, additional fees may apply

Airbnb does not control or know the exact fees charged by your bank or intermediary banks and is not responsible for any fees deducted during international transfers.

Setting up international transfers

Adding a new payout method is quick and easy, but it may take up to 2 days for the new method to be verified. While your payout method is being verified, it’ll show as Pending.

To receive payouts via international transfer:

  1. Enter your local banking details in your payout preferences, even if your bank partners with an intermediary
  2. Depending on your location, you’ll need to enter your account number or IBAN, which your bank can provide
  3. Airbnb’s bank will take care of processing the international transfer, so you don’t need to provide information about intermediary banks

International transfers have a daily transaction limit set at $50,000 USD.

Special requirements for mainland China listings

For homes in mainland China:

  • Payouts must be collected through a CNY (Chinese yuan) account based in China, as required by law
  • You can choose Alipay or a China-issued bank card for receiving payouts
  • Without a valid CNY account setup, payouts for homes listed in mainland China cannot be processed

Stay safe

Always communicate, book and pay through Airbnb. If you receive a suspicious message, report it to Airbnb through your message thread or contact support directly.
