You were all set to travel and now something’s come up. Your refund depends on your host’s cancellation policy and when you cancel the reservation. Here’s a tip: you can check your refund amount before you cancel.
Refunds are subject to your host’s cancellation policy. Depending on the length of your stay, how soon your reservation starts, the nights you’ve stayed and the cancellation policy that applies to your reservation, you may get a full refund, a partial refund or no refund if you cancel.
Note: If you’re cancelling because you experienced an issue during your stay, you may be eligible for a refund, regardless of your host’s cancellation policy.
Service fees are refunded if you cancel during the free cancellation period for your reservation. Find out more about service fee refunds.
If you’ve only paid for part of your stay up front, your refund amount may be less than you expect and will never exceed what you paid.

Coupons are non-refundable. If you cancel a reservation in which you used a coupon to pay, the coupon can’t be used again. Find out more about how coupons work.
Refunds for booking credit are subject to your host’s cancellation policy. Depending on when you cancel and the cancellation policy that applies to your reservation, you may get a refund of the booking credit that will be made available on your Airbnb account to use later.
If a hotel or other professional host collects property fees on-site, any refund of those fees is at the discretion of the host.

If you’re in Australia, for home reservations made on 21 April 2025 and onwards, cleaning fees will no longer be refunded separately from the nightly rate. Instead, cleaning fees will be part of the total price and any refund of the cleaning fee will be based on the host’s cancellation policy.
