Host and guest safety

Safety is a top priority at Airbnb. Safety incidents are very rare, but when they do occur, we have policies and processes in place to support our community. This can include cancelling upcoming or ongoing reservations and taking action against violating accounts, including account removal.

In some cases and where we are able, we may take proactive steps to help promote safety, including running background checks in certain regions, screening for reservations that indicate a high risk of resulting in a disruptive gathering and screening users in certain regions for potential involvement in serious crimes.

How to report a safety issue

If there’s an emergency in progress, please contact local emergency services or law enforcement authorities for assistance. If you’re unfamiliar with local emergency services phone numbers, you can use Airbnb to dial emergency services now. For non-emergencies, you can contact us 24 hours a day by chat, email or phone. You can also contact our Neighbourhood Support team to report disturbances.
