Safety is a top priority at Airbnb. Safety incidents are very rare, but when they do occur, we have policies and processes in place to support our community. This can include cancelling upcoming or ongoing reservations and taking action against violating accounts, including account removal.
In some cases and where we are able, we may take proactive steps to help promote safety, including running background checks in certain regions, screening for reservations that indicate a high risk of resulting in a disruptive gathering and screening users in certain regions for potential involvement in serious crimes.
