    How do I change or cancel an Open Homes reservation if I'm a guest?

    Communicate any changes with the host using the message thread as soon as possible.

    If you need to make a change to a paid reservation, you can submit a change request to your host. Free Open Homes reservations cannot be changed on the website or app. If you need to make a change to a free Open Homes reservation, contact the Open Homes support team at openhomessupport@airbnb.com.

    Canceling because of an emergency or unavoidable circumstance

    We understand emergencies happen that can impact your ability to complete your stay. In the event you need to cancel your stay due to such circumstances, please contact your host in the message thread and cancel the reservation as soon as possible.

    How to cancel my reservation

    You can cancel a reservation any time before or during your trip. To cancel a reservation:

    1. Go to Trips and choose your trip
    2. Click Your home reservation
    3. Click Modify reservation

    You'll be taken to a new page where you can either change or cancel your reservation. Click the Next button under Cancel reservation to start the cancellation process.

    If you cancel, any refund will be determined by your host’s cancellation policy, where applicable.

    What to do if my host cancels

    Host cancellations are extremely rare, but can add challenges and stress when they do occur. In the unlikely event that your host cancels within 24 hours of check in, you can reach out to the Open Homes support team at openhomessupport@airbnb.com for additional help.
