What is Zhima-verified and how does it work?
Zhima verification is real-person verification that uses Alipay's Zhima Credit section. To provide a more trusted platform, Airbnb uses Zhima verification as a way to confirm hosts' and guests' identity. Zhima verification is fast, and most people are verified successfully.
Once verified, guests will have a Zhima-verified badge on their profile page, and hosts will have the same badge on their profile page, as well as on their listing page.
What gets shared
Once you are verified, the following information might be shared with hosts or guests:- The fact that you are Zhima-verified
- Your Zhima score
The following will never be shared with your hosts, guests, or anyone else who uses Airbnb:
- Your selfie (if you are asked to take a selfie)
- Your Alipay account information
How to get Zhima-verified
For hosts who haven't published a listing yet
On desktop:
- Go to Create New Listing
- Add your info to the form
- Click Add a photo of your ID
- Select Verify through Alipay
- Scan the QR code to start verification
- Complete the Alipay verification on your phone
- Go back to Airbnb, where you'll automatically be taken to the next step
On mobile:
- Tap Listing, then tap +to add a new listing
- Add your info to the form
- Tap Confirm Your Info
- Continue with the Alipay verification
- Once that's complete, go back to the Airbnb listing and tap Publish Listing
If you're a guest or already have a listing
- Go to Edit Profile
- Click Trust and Verification
- Click Connect
- Add your ID number and name exactly as they appear on your government ID
- Click Submit
- After being redirected to the Zhima Credit page, verify your phone number
- Allow Airbnb to use Zhima Credit to verify your info
- After that's done, you’ll be redirected to Airbnb
If you have trouble verifying
It may be because your Alipay account is not verified, or you don't get the option to Verify through Alipay. If either of those issues applies to you, please select Other ID Verifications. Please note that each ID document can be only used as verification for a limited amount of Airbnb accounts.

The information you provide during the process of adding your government ID is governed by our Privacy Policy (https://www.airbnb.com/terms/privacy_policy) and sent to us and our third-party partners using SSL—the same secure encryption that websites use to transmit credit card numbers. Our third-party partners handle this info according to our Privacy Policy. If you're a host and your credit record is good, we may use it only to promote your listing to potential guests in the future.
