What you'll do

Getting to know Edinburgh with a hybrid instant camera in your hands brings sightseeing to another level. More than a tour, this is an active, hands-on experience that will allow you to become the photographer and creator of your very own set of instant photographs to bring home with you as a unique souvenir!

We will meet in the Vennel Steps next to the Grassmarket, where I will give you your own Instax hybrid instant camera to use throughout the tour, equipped with a 10-frame film. First, I will teach you how to use the camera and to experiment with different settings (no prior photography knowledge needed). Then we will take a tour through Edinburgh's Old Town while you snap and shoot away. We will end the photo walk at the beautiful National Museum of Scotland, where we can sit down, have a coffee, chat a bit, and have time to pick out your final photos to print out and take with you.

Why the Instax SQ10? Compared to traditional instant cameras, the Instax SQ10 is a hybrid instant camera that combines the best of the analog and digital worlds. It will allow you to capture as many photos as you want, use creative filtering functions to edit on the spot, and then print the photos you want as many times as you want.

Hello and welcome to Lisbon!

I'm Stephanie and I'll be guiding you through this hands-on experience of this amazing city. Photography and architecture are my passions. I've studied analogue and digital photography, and I've worked as photography producer at an architecture magazine for about four years.

As an architect, I love to integrate photography into my work and to experiment when capturing spaces, moments and people, always looking for new and interesting ways to share ideas and perspectives with others. I hope to share these experiences in this tour with you, while you explore this beautiful city with an Instax SQ10 hybrid instant camera in your hands!

Where you'll be

We'll meet at the Vennel Steps where I'll take some time to introduce myself and show you how to use the camera and how experiment with all the features. Then we'll walk through the Grassmarket and Victoria street towards the Castle, go off the main routes around the Royal Mile, stroll the Cowgate , pass by one of the city’s most famous cemeteries, and make our way to the National Museum of Scotland to end our journey.

Stephanie was a lovely guide for this beautiful photo walk. She suggested I pick a theme for my photos (I chose the interaction of urban structures and nature) and then she was very helpful in pointing out shots that might fit my theme. The cameras are very fun to use and the photos I took are a great memory of my last day in Scotland. Thanks for a great experience!

My friends and I booked Stephanie's experience for my friend hen party and we couldn't have chosen any better. Stephanie took us around the old town explaining curiosities about the city and giving us tips to get the best photos. We had a great time and it was the highlight of your trip to Edinburgh. We highly recommend this experience with Stephanie!

Stephanie is an amazing and enthusiastic person, with a great knowledge of architecture and a love of Edinburgh and photography. I have done some photography before, but this was about more- insight into the city and buildings, sharing her culture as well as her way of seeing the world, which made it a unique experience. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to get printed photographs after an amazing walking tour.

The walking tour with Stephanie, using the instax camera she provided, was a wonderful experience. Stephanie gave a short introduction into how to operate the camera (it's very intuitive, so a longer introduction wasn't needed) and off we went. All along the way Stephanie was happy to answer any questions I had and to point out interesting views and objects that matched the theme of our walk that I got to decide earlier on. She was also a true well of fascinating facts and stories about the architectural history of the city (being an architect herself) and her passion for discovering the city anew everytime was very catching. I never would have gotten to see and experience the city this way without Stephanie's tour and I can only recommend it!

This was a fantastic experience and a really unique way of seeing and experiencing the city. Through taking photos of the details of the city, we really felt like we saw a different 'angle' that we wouldn't have otherwise. The cameras are of really high quality and editing them and printing them at the end of the tour was a brilliant touch and makes for a memorable time. Thanks!!
