For 19+ years, I worked with the artists and the community to build the collection of public art throughout the City. I facilitated the selection process and worked with the artists on installation, so I have stories to share - how did this one get into the ground? What was the artists' intention with this installation? And what about the history that inspired the Thompson Tempietto. The Shock Art boxes - which number almost 50 now - were all painted under my leadership. How many can you find? As a bicycle educator for 30 years, we will go over some safety/rules of the road and explore the artwork using carefully curated routing to ensure safety and minimize busy roads.

Where you'll be

Starting in the downtown area, we will explore the parks and greenways of Longmont and see many of the sculptures that are off the beaten path or only accessible by bike or foot. Several of the artworks are interactive and all of them have a story. How many of the 101 Faces can you find? How many still exist or may have been swept away during the flood? Super selfie opportunity as you learn the ins and outs of public art in Longmont.
