About your host

I have extensive experience in traditional Japanese Shibori and other resist dyeing techniques using indigo and other natural dyes to create a range of unique pieces. I’m passionate about taking Shibori to a new level with new stitch techniques and a broad range of plant dyes to produce interesting and colourful textiles. I use daily meditation to put me in the right frame of mind to be creative.

Where you'll be

We’ll be at my studio underneath an old railway bridge. It’s in Hackney near Broadway Market set in a warren of staircases and differently-sized studio spaces. It’s full of interesting and quirky items like a giant scuplted head, WW1 utility belts, a church pulpit, and even an old ostrich egg.
