What you'll do

We will meet at the Boston Public Market and take a loop through this welcome addition to the Boston food scene. We will cross the Rose Kennedy Greenway and travel into the North End up Salem Street exploring the side streets as we go. We’ll see the exterior of the Old North Church and see the second oldest burial ground Copp’s Hill. We will see the Paul Revere monument and the last remaining Charles Bulfinch Church.

We will see a private memorial to the Saints as we pop in and out of markets and bakeries along the walk. We will talk about the Great Molasses Flood, the Brinks Robbery, and the Ponzi Scene.

We will conclude our tour in front of Paul Revere’s House.

I want to introduce you to Boston’s original settlement. It has changed over the centuries and is now the North End (Boston’s Italian section).

We will explore the history of this important neighborhood and visit the many markets and bakeries along the way.

You can make food purchases during the tour or take mental notes of where you want to return to after the tour.

This tour is for anyone interested in history, urban politics, the “big dig”, and food.

We had a great time with Ellen, a nice mix of history and food- plenty of back stories to the businesses/sites which made the tour very memorable.

Ellen was fantastic! Very personable, very knowledgeable, friendly and made the tour exciting and fun! We really enjoyed our time with her in north end; she was aware of the good foods, pastries and hidden gems. We highly recommend her tour to anyone. We came to visit from Arizona and would come tour with her again in the future !
