What you'll do

Hike with me to classic destinations and another one more secret in the Tijuca National Park (Sector B, Carioca Sierra) avoiding the crowd of tourists. We will use official trails under the forest canopy. This is a pleasant, healthy and sustainable manner to visit places with impressive views of the city and hike in the Atlantic tropical forest under the canopy! We will stop at a more hidden waterfall on the way back to relax. We will hike to a maximum altitude of 641m on a 5.5km course (3.5km on easy to moderate trail + 2km along the Park road). Round trip 11km. We will visit
- Chinese View
- Emperor's Table
- Forest of the Carioca Sierra (Proa Rock)
- a waterfall to refresh ourselves on the way back
I visit this park for decades - currently at least three times a week - and I'm going to share my knowledge about its history, and the functions of the urban forest it hosts. We will pass by centenary giant trees and we may even spot some animals in the forest. Some of the places we will visit are part of the occupation history of the city. My motivation is to provide an unforgettable and pleasant day, without many tourists around us and with the possibility of enjoying the environment in which we will be, the Atlantic tropical Forest and the Carioca Sierra in the Tijuca massif.

Felipe est super ! Il parle très bien français et c'était un vrai plaisir de le rencontrer et de découvrir un autre Rio que les chemins très très connus de tous les touristes. Et en plus, il a accepté à ce qu'on vienne avec notre bébé de 9 mois !
