What you'll do

Note: The price per person includes German 16% VAT.

We shall spend 3 hours together in Munich discussing the early events that ultimately led to the rise of National Socialism, Adolf Hitler and the Third Reich. Munich was the birthplace of the Nazi Party with Hitler naming it the ‘Capital of the movement’.

I split the tour into two sections. The first hour focusing on origins and understanding of symbolism, ideology, Antisemitism, propaganda and destruction in Munich.
The next two hours focus on a chronological life story of Adolf Hitler from Birth in 1889 until he becomes the Chancellor of Germany in 1933. We shall also talk about a few events that happened in Munich during the late 1930s and see some original architecture.

This tour is for people with zero to a moderate knowledge on this topic.

I’ll share a lot of photos, pictures and extra interesting facts throughout the tour. We always take a short 15 minute break in the middle and at the end I will give you a sheet of book recommendations for further reading.

Although I am not a historian, I do have a personal family connection to this part of history, so have been making an effort to keep learning about this topic over the last ten years.

If the date you want is not on my calendar please send me a date request.

Note: I am now offering a ‘Munich Old Town Tour’ as well.

I look forward to meeting you soon.

My name is Jax and I‘m a British expat who has been living in Munich since 2016 with my wonderful German wife who I met 7 years ago in London, UK. I became a tour guide once arriving and fell in love with the job, so have been a full time professional tour guide for the past 3.5 years now. I currently work for two of the best tour agencies in Munich as a freelancer and in January 2019 I started my own private tour guide business called ‘Experience Munich Tours’.

I already have over 200 five star reviews all over TripAdvisor, google, get your guide, Viator and other platforms. Look me up!

I would say that my style of tour guiding is interactive, passionate, concise, clear spoken, fun, inclusive and at times theatrical. I always bring my tablet on the tour to share lots of photos and pictures to help the history come alive.

This was a highlight of our holiday! We aren’t normally a fan of guided tours as they can be a bit impersonal but Jax approaches the tour from his own personal connection and understanding of the rise of the third reich. He asked what we knew about and moulded the tour to this so we weren’t being told ‘the same old’ and Jax has a real interest and passion for what he is talking about which comes across. I came away with a better insight than I started the tour with and the tour was worth every penny. I strongly encourage you to book this tour I guarantee it won’t disappoint.

Jax is a wonderful, passionate tour guide. We learned a lot about Munich and, particularly, about the WW2 era and reasons for the rise of Hitler. It was amazing to stand right on the spots where history happened. Thank you for the great tour!

I really enjoyed the tour with Jax. I was deeply interested in getting a familiarity with the places that were key in the history of the Third Reich and Jax, who is a great storyteller, did not disappoint. Above all, while we were delayed by one of the other participants who lost his wallet,Jax was willing to stay for 30 minutes longer in order to finish the tour. He also gave great recommendations for food and drinks in the city. Much thanks, Jax!
