What you'll do

I will reach my guests in a predetermined place, easy to reach.
From there we will continue by foot towards the church of Santa Cecilia, which is open only for this occasion. Then we proceed with a visit to the town's old barrack, the protagonist of an ancient legend. Later we will stop at the church of the Beata Vergine del Monserrato, where I will tell the story of those who built it. The next stop will be an old house, you will be able to visit the interiors and discover the culinary traditions thanks to the presence of locals who will show tourists how typical specialties are produced. The house is private and is open exclusively for these visits and other rare occasions. The next stop is the small church of San Leonardo, where you have a privileged view of Bari Sardo and the surrounding countryside. It is no longer possible to visit the pistoccu oven due to covid-19 restrictions, so the tour will end at the traditional pastry shop.

I am the founder of Visiting Bari Sardo and I am an expert local guide, as well as a student. I have studied three languages: English, French and German. I have traveled all over Europe. I started to get interested in the history of Bari Sardo listening to the legends and stories that my grandmother tells me. By collecting them and studying from various sources, I managed to come up with a visit to the small town where I live. I have been doing this job for over a year now and I offer visitors direct contact with local people and traditional food produced by skilled hands that have reproduced the same gestures for centuries.

Where you'll be

The tour starts from the church of S. Cecilia characterized by a romantic garden.
The barracks are now abandoned and dilapidated.
In the church of the Blessed Virgin we will dwell on the legends that characterize it, the marbles and paintings.
In the ancient house my mother and my aunt, dressed in Sardinian costumes, will explain the local customs.
S. Leonardo offers a complete view of the town.
You can see the works of the pastry chefs up close.
