What you'll do

* 18% OFF FOR GROUPS OF 4 OR MORE PEOPLE!
* 10% OFF FOR SPRING BREAK WEEK (APRIL 11th - APRIL 19th)
We will cover three art communities in our trip, experiencing three different perspectives in Cuban art nowadays: Afrocuban religion, a Cubist artist and an unknown but amazing art community called “Muraleando”.
We will start in “Callejon de Hamel”: a haven for Afrocuban culture where singers, drums and street art tell you about the history of this popular religion in Cuba. Then we will jump into a 50’s vintage car to visit “Fusterlandia”, the most famous art community in Havana, created by world known artist José Fuster who has improved the surroundings of what used to be a small and poor fishermen’s village. Our final stop will be in “Muraleando”, a National Culture Award Community Project where every piece of art was handmade from garbage collected by the neighbors in the very same place where “Muraleando” stands today. We will meet one of the co-founders of the project and amateur artists (all of them neighbors as well) that will play LIVE CUBAN MUSIC for us at the time that we enjoy a refreshing non-alcoholic cocktail.
More than just an artistic tour, you will have the chance to interact directly with Cuban people living in these neighborhoods and see Cuban daily life away from the touristic highlights of Havana’s historical center.

What a great moment-the highlight of our stay in Havana, especially the “unknown” muraleando which was THE occasion we got to better understand Cubans. The kids loved it as well, we will remember this for a long time!

This is a MUST MUST MUST do in Havana! We got to experience such different art and cultural communities and ended the day at an amazing community art hub where we were honored with live music and beautiful art pieces. This experience made us feel connected to the people of Havana and opened our eyes to the diversity of lives touched through art. Leydia was a gracious, knowledgeable and thoughtful host. I’m already thinking of when we will come back…

First of you tell you that spending the morning with Leydis was such a pleasure. She is a highly intelligent, articulate and passionate young woman. She clearly loves art and loves Cuba. She took us to three very interesting cultural art sites but the one that stuck with us the most was the last. This is a garbage dump that was turned into an art, music and dance space through the sheer will of a community of Cuban people. Is not only beautiful it is an illustration of the Cuban peoples resilience, resourcefulness and love of expression.

I’ve been to Cuba 4 times and this was by far, the best of all the tours I’ve done! If you love art, learning a deeper level of Cuban history and culture, and seeking out the spots that not all tourists know about then this is the tour for you! I originally just wanted to find some way to get to Fusterlandia and also learn some background, but the stops at Callejon de Hamel and Muraleando were unexpected treasures that made the whole tour an amazing experience! It was fun to drive from place to place in a vintage Ford, and Leydis was such a friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely fun guide. She quickly answered my initial questions about the tour and gave us some truly great recommendations in helpful apps and places to go for food and nightlife. I am so grateful this tour exists and I feel like it gave me a much deeper love of Cuba and it’s people than I already have!
