The Icelandic queer history does not happen in a vacuum and your guide will introduce you to some very important Icelanders who have made an impact in the fight for LGBTQ rights throughout history. Their contribution will give you valuable insight into Iceland’s history as well. You will learn about the financial crash, the economic crisis, military occupation, and the alcohol ban – all of which are intertwined with the queer history!

I am a Reykjavik local and I love to show people around my city. I am a history buff and run my own personal tour company that aims to be personal, entertaining and leave guests with a positive impression of Iceland and a smile on their face. I am a storyteller and have a big passion for sharing local stories and personal anecdotes. My co-host Siggi is also a wonderful storyteller who knows Iceland's queer history by heart. He is the kindest and loveliest person you will ever meet. After the tour, you will feel that you have made a new personal friend in him.

Our tour guide,Sigi, was so knowledgeable and cool. It’s fun to hear history that relates to your community, ya know? The history, stories, and regular conversation was great.

A brilliant tour! Our guide Siggi was amazing - super friendly, super knowledgeable (he has a degree in history!) and a great story-teller! He was able to answer every last of our questions and really gave us the feeling of walking with a friend. The tour is very interesting - it explores some places you normally might have overlooked and gives you new perspectives on some of the big landmarks. I highly recommend taking part in this tour - it gives you an in-depth insight in icelandic culture, while being highly entertaining!
