I took this tour with a fellow guide from Haytham- he was very knowledgeable and able to answer all the questions I had. The day trip from Aswan and back is far! But I think it's worth it if you are on limited time like myself.

Abu Simbel was great and overall this tour was fine. The main issues were that the driver did not communicate anything to the passengers. We would be stopped at certain areas in the road and we were all really confused. The other issue is that when we got to Abu Simbel, several tour guides approached our vehicles and were fighting with our driver

Abu Simbel temples left me in awe due to their sheer size, as a temple that was dedicated to a Royal queen and because of the stupendous effort of UNESCO to move an entire temple complex geographically. The trip was comfortable though it was a 6 hour round trip. A complete must do! Absolutely worth your time and money!

Haytham is wonderful in terms of communication and keeping things organized, so he gets A+ in this aspect. However be aware that what you are paying for here is just transportation, the duration and quality of the tour guide who met us in Abu Simbel need to improve. The “8 hrs” are basically spent driving there and back, when we got there at 7:30am, we were told we had to be back 9am, while 1.5 hrs sounds like a lot it isn’t, by the time you walk, hit the toilet, walk to the entrance etc, it all takes time away from the temple themselves. The guide met us briefly before the entrance, again in between temples for 15 mins (to give you a quick explanation) as they aren’t allowed inside temples, then temple #2 for 20 minutes, then rush back to the car, everything just felt rushed! My suggestion is to make it 2 hours or 2.5 hrs and provide an overview of the 1st temple BEFORE going inside.

This is a great way to travel to Abu Simbel in comfort and without worry. Haytham won’t be your guide for this tour but he is the one that coordinates it so you know you’re in good hands.
