What you'll do

Many times when I have visited a dog-friendly city, I have wished that I had a dog with me to sit on a patio, explore a new park, or walk down a friendly main street! This is your opportunity to walk a dog in a new city and learn and explore about the history of Franklin in a fun and unique way!

Guests will meet at Bicentennial Park, 3 blocks from America's Favorite Main Street where they will meet the adoptable dog they will be walking with! We will walk up 3rd Avenue, home to some of the most beautiful historic homes that have some pretty interesting stories too! We will walk down Main Street, where guests can pop into many dog friendly shops (if they wish!). We will stop for a cup of coffee or beverage at the end of Main Street halfway through the tour. I hope this will be a fun and unique way for guests, especially dog lovers!, to explore Downtown Franklin and also to help a local rescue by providing exposure and new stimulation to these adoptable dogs!

I have been walking dogs professionally for 10 years and have actively fostered and volunteered for a local dog 501(c)(3) senior and special needs dog rescued called Snooty Giggles Dog Rescue for over 7 years. I am a rare Franklin native and have lived less than 10 minutes from Franklin's beautiful Main Street and Square my entire life! There is nothing I enjoy more than showing off my historical and dog-friendly hometown! If you're visiting from out of town and are homesick for your furry friend or just want to "rent a dog" for a stroll, you can explore some of my favorite parts of Historic Downtown Franklin and take a walk with a rescue dog! I hope this will be a fun, unique, and family-friendly way to learn about a new city and help an adoptable dog meet and greet with potential family and make some new friends!

What a wonderful concept! If you’re the type who thinks historic tours are boring (or not your first choice of how to spend a couple of hours), then try this experience! Sarah has perfectly blended her love of her hometown with her passion for helping very special rescue dogs. Sarah’s tour was full of information only a local would know—and what’s better than walking around this beautiful dog-friendly town with a furry friend?

Sarah was patient and kind right from the get go, as we arrived later than anticipated. She greeted us with two adorable pups and showed us places of historical significance as well as local establishments to check out. Based on Sarah’s tour, we spent the entire afternoon in Franklin. Definitely a unique game experience that showed us an area we wouldn’t have otherwise explored. The pups were super cute, and it was fun to have some new furry friends for the morning.

This was such a fun and unique experience. Sarah was very knowledgeable and friendly. The dogs were adorable. It was great to get to know parts of Franklin we wouldn’t have otherwise seen. I suggest doing this early on in your trip so you can get suggestions on where to go from someone that lives local.

What a fun and personal way to discover Franklin. Sarah has great stories about the area but more importantly she has fantastic dogs to come along for the walk! It’s the best way to find out how dog-friendly Franklin is, walking in and out of shops and galleries with a super cute and cuddly rescue dog. The only bad thing was having to leave the dog behind at the end! Couldn’t recommend this enough and if I ever return to the area I’ll do it again.
