What you'll do

This tour will allow you to live like a local for a few hours, discovering the world of Tango in places little known to tourists.

We meet at 4:45 p.m. in the Carlos Gardel Museum, who were the most famous Tango exponent in the world. Previously, the museum was the house where he lived with his mother, and became a "tanguería" in the 60s. Currently, the museum exhibits the assets of the citizen's cultural heritage and the singer's work, in addition to remembering the different stages of his life.

After 1 hour, we head to Café Las Violetas, a bar with more than 100 years of history. Declared "Historic Place of the City" in 1998 by the Legislature of the City of Buenos Aires, the bar was visited by presidents and famous artists and writers. Its stained-glass windows and curved glass doors, its French stained-glass windows and its Italian marble floors make this one the most beautiful and distinguish bars of the city. We go back in time to the atmosphere of the 20th century in this cafe, while we have the afternoon tea.

Drinks included: infusion (tea, coffee, cappuccino) / hot chocolate / natural orange juice
Food included: 1 sweet option (portion of cake, pudding) / 1 salted option (sandwich, toast)

At 7:15 p.m., we finish the tour with the practical part! We go to La Catedral Club Milongas, a very "porteño" place, to take a 1-hour Tango class.

It is a unique experience, ideal for those who want to enter deep into the world of Tango by learning the basic concepts of this dance and experiencing a traditional Milonga!

Unfortunately, this was the worst experience we had in Argentina. The guide was nice but very ill-prepared. It seemed like it was the first time they had been on the tour themselves. The description did not match what was offered. We walked around for over 1 hour looking in different stories to kill time. We did not even get to tango as it was supposed to be at 6:30 but we only showed up at 7:40 for an 8:00 pm start, which was after the end of the tour. This tour and provider should be removed from the site as it devalues the overall Airbnb experiences.
