My wife and I are both retired educators. As a life-long musician I have played and taught all types of music and instruments. In Hawai'i, my wife and I have embraced Hawaiian music and dance (Hula). My wife and I teach 'ukulele classes at Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park and play with local
na kanikapila (Hawaiian jam sessions) at least twice a week as well as performing with 'ukulele ensembles on the island. My wife dances with a hālau hula (hula school) that has presented at the Merrie Monarch Hula Festival, an annual world-wide hula competition that takes place in Hilo, Hawai'i.

Where you'll be

You will join us at our home, playing on the lanai with views out over the ocean (kai). Additional times and days may be available.
For an additional cost, special arrangements can be made to play right on the beach, enjoying the waves rolling ashore while strumming your 'ukulele under the sighing palm trees. An enchanting Hawaiian experience.

It was fantastic being able to play with Peter while hearing about Hawaiian culture and history. Peter has a passion for music and people. I highly recommend booking this experience! It’s super affordable and well worth the price!

Awesome! What a great experience. One of us could already play the ukulele but didn’t know the names of the chords he played, and the other had never played. We each received individual attention and we each learned something new. It was great and we would definitely take another lesson with Peter and Cathy.

I was suprised at myself ... I love the ukelele music and wanted to experience it. For not having any musical background whatsoever ... I learned three chords today. I think with practice it can be a realization. Really enjoyed my lesson.
