We had an outstanding experience in Yosemite National Park with Tom Ryan as our watercolor teacher and journal instructor.  He was able to tie these two elements together by seeing, observing, applying and providing through composition and script.  It was a beautiful fall day with colors bursting from the trees, which Tom taught us how to mix using the primary colors to produce the natural colors. He was interactive, personable, encouraging, and inspiring.  I highly recommend him as a teacher, artist, and snack provider!

Tom has a wealth of knowledge and does beautiful work. His passion for the watercolor medium and the beauty of nature was “catching”. It helped me to observe and organize my painting better. I also learned some valuable things about washes, color mixing and Magic Erasers. Thanks so much for this experience!

Our class with Tom was a real highlight of our time in Yosemite! His presentation was inspirational and we felt welcomed and supported in the process. We are now anxious to continue our journals on our own and have discovered a new interest.
