Lori and I fell in Love with Honeybees over 15 years ago. We have over 12 colonies in our apiaries. We prefer the term, Bee Advocate over Beekeepers, and have given several talks on Bees and Monarch Butterfly’s to Schools, Scouts, Garden Clubs and Chamber of Commerces. What we’ll do

This fascinating experience begins at one of our Apiaries, the Morgan Hemlock Home on Air BnB, or our Riverside Apiary. There will be plenty of liquid refreshments served throughout the experience. We will discuss the importance of Honeybees and Native bees and Monarch Butterflies and what you can do at home to help provide food and habitat for all pollinators. This experience best suited for 2-8 participants. Private tours with lunch are an option, and additional dates added. Proceeds from this experience go towards Honeybee rescues, education, and habitat restoration. If requested, this tour can be conducted using our fully contained Observation hive.

What I’ll provide

Snacks
This experience is designed for 2-8 people. Guest will enjoy fresh honey on snacks with beverages, featuring our own local Natural Buzz Honey in Lori’s homemade recipes! You may also purchase fresh honey and bee related products we have created!
Safety equipment and Other
This is a rain or shine event. In case of inclement weather we will view the bees and Queen in a fully self contained Observation Hive under shelter. A complete safety briefing will occur prior to the examination of the Apiary, weather permitting and Beekeeper jackets and gloves provided to all.

What to bring

Guest should wear long pants, (without holes!), socks, and shoes not flip flops or sandels
For our Bees safety, please do not wear heavy perfumes, colognes, and a big repellents that can harm or annoy our winged friends during the visit.
Some guest like to make a day of it and canoe or camp at our adjoining campground and canoe livery. Ask for details

Where you'll be

We will tour the on premise apiaries and numerous pollinator gardens. In addition, you will witness a seldom seen inside view of an active Honeybee colony. You will be fascinated as the bees, create and store honey and pollen, and witness the young bees emerge into the world for the 1st time! Depending on the season, guest may be shown our Morgan Monarch project and actively participate in tagging our Fall Monarchs for their 3000 mile migration.
