I'm a certified instructor of SAORI Weaving since 2005. SAORI is a free-form of weaving which was developed in Japan based on the Zen philosophy. After I studied in Japan and continued to practice, I founded Loop of the Loom, a place where everyone can weave for self-healing, self-discovery, and self-expression. I've been guiding thousands of beginners and apprentices from all over the world. Weaving has changed their life for the better. SAORI facilitates mindful meditation and lets us awaken to human equality - as a leader of the SAORI community, this is something I would like to share with you.

Totally acceptable for beginners, as I was. Unique and creative experience, don't get to do such types of things so much anymore. Was fun to explore with the loom and try new techniques and use inspiring colors of your choosing. Definitely kept my mind focused and relaxed.

What a delightful day! I’m a ceramicist who is obsessed with all things craft related and have been dying to try weaving. I was thrilled when I saw that Yukako offered a 7 hour course - I was looking for something a bit deeper than a 2 hour workshop and this was perfect. Her studio is clean, calming and located in DUMBO so is nestled in between beautiful views and some great coffee shops. Yukako is a patient teacher and I was up and running on the loom within minutes. She taught me a variety of techniques to try and encouraged me to play around and experiment. I couldn’t be happier with how my piece turned out! I’d definitely book this experience again if (more likely when!) I’m in the mood for a meditative craft day.
