What you'll do

This raft trip is a full on raft fishing trip for one day.
This spectacular river is one of the finest wilderness river systems in New Zealand and is home to rainbow and brown trout which can reach up to 10 lb or more!
The river is surrounded by the sounds of birdsong . Soak up the serene surroundings that include magnificent gorges, farmland, waterfalls and untouched native forest. Yes there are kiwi about that you can hear at night. There are no dams on the river and its clean to drink!
Along the way you will stop for a spot of fishing and you can try your hand at fly or spin fishing.
The trip description will vary according to the time of year, fishing conditions, and water conditions. We will match each person to the best section so everyone has fun.
We meet at base and travel to the relevant section.
Once at the river we have a quick safety brief then its off down the river.
We stop and fish where ever the trout look good.
At the completion of the day we are picked up and taken back to base.

Where you'll be

All our raft trips are fully guided and will give you a 1 on 1 experience with stories. Some stories go back to pre european times. We will take you to places on the Mohaka river where you can not walk to.We also know where all the big trout are and help you land one if possible. These are wild trout and fight accordingly. No trip is ever the same.
