What you'll do

We'll pass by 5 sites of interest (iconic places in Mexico City) & visit 4 sites, totaling 9 places. Two out of the four are a couple of the most famous markets in the city; here you’ll find all kinds of souvenirs & trinkets. I'll show the difference between hand made & machine made item, we’ll also learn about the origin of some of the items and the way they’re made. We'll use public transportation so you can coexist with locals and hopefully feel like a local. Our last stop will be one of my favorite spots in the city where we stop for coffee and a hallmark view.

Originally from Mexico but grew up in the States, an entrepreneur, passionate traveler. Having had experienced two ways of life has really giving me a different perspective, that is why I truly believe that some places should be seen & lived like a local, just so you can taste a bit of the essence of that place. I love using public transportation especially in a city like this which makes it the fastest way to get around & can also allow you to do sight seeing (free city tour) while on the bus. There’s a lot of places to see get a quick peak on my IG ixmati_world_travel.

Where you'll be

1. We’ll meet in one of the four most visited cultural venues in Mexico (country)
2. Most famous local markets in the city; here we'll find voodoo/black magic, life animals, party supplies, piñatas, traditional clay pots & plates.
3. Second market has a recollection of the most representative items of Mexico, here’s where I’ll explain the origin of some of the items & the way they’re made
4. One of my favorites spots with a hallmark view

Do it without a doubt! I was in Mexico City for almost 3 weeks and this was my first Airbnb experience. I wish I had met Sara at the beginning of my trip rather than at the tail end. If you are into an authentic experience; off the beaten track and away from the tour buses/tourist traps, Sara is your answer. México City has so many markets, I visited quite a few on my own but even going back to the markets that I had been to with Sara, totally gave me different perspective. She is cool, knowledgeable and passionate. Sara made me feel personally welcomed; understood my interests within the first hour of our meeting and I felt like I was a visiting a local friend who gave me a tour of her city. I ended up using her services to visit Coyocan, the Basilica de Santa Maria de Guadalupe Complex and Tepotzotlan (which is one of the “Pueblo Magico” near Mexico city) using public transportation as a local with locals, I felt immersed in the culture and community. We enjoyed yummy foods at local taquerias/taco stands and attended a spring festival together. Thank you Sara! My trips with you were and still are the highlights of my visit in CDMX and I hope to see you again when I travel in Mexico. You are a gem.

Sara is amazing. She was extremely responsive to my messages and specific on where to meet. She has a wealth of information regarding the history of certain towns and which items at the market come from these towns. She also will show you the best handmade, local crafts, while helping you obtain the best price. It’s a genuine experience, worth the price and more. She’s a great conversationalist in English and Spanish. Highly recommend!

The markets Sarah brought me to was very cool. A local market and a market that had hand made items. Sarah was able to explain where items were made and help shop for specific things that I was looking for.

We had a great time with Sara, she showed us a very local market, which was incredibly interesting. The second market was just what we were looking for souvenirs to take back home. We definitely would not have found either location without her and felt very comfortable and safe with her.
