What you'll do

We will meet at the door of a national key cultural relics protection unit in the center of Hangzhou, which is 1 km away from the West Lake.
We walked through a 800 year old street. In the Southern Song Dynasty, the emperor would sacrifice ancestors along this street every year.
We walked past the home of Lu Xun's friend. His neighbor is the owner of the earliest photo studio in Hangzhou. Opposite is the home of Uncle Qian Xuesen, a building built in the late 19th century.
We walked into a 100-year-old courtyard and traced the history of Christianity in Hangzhou. We walked into an alley and walked past the home of a famous Chinese medicine doctor in Hangzhou in the Republic of China.
We walked through a Christian church, walked through the largest temple in Hangzhou city 800 years ago-now it is an alley, walked through the former residence of Dai Wangshu, walked through Pishi Alley and Ma Shi Street for a thousand years, walked through Hangzhou and even all The earliest modern hospital in China entered the former residence of Qian Xuesen and went through a catastrophe that Hangzhou experienced 150 years ago.
Walk into quiet alleys, into the history and present of Hangzhou.
The activity time is from 9 am to 1 pm. As the culmination and end of the event, I will invite you to have a delicious meal in Hangzhou in a cafeteria that the locals love very much. (If you like vegetarian food, I will take you to a vegetarian restaurant with a high cost performance to eat a fresh, nutritious and delicious vegetarian buffet.)
Or if you haven’t eaten breakfast at the beginning of the event, I can invite you to have a good meal in a local halal restaurant before leaving.
Choose one of breakfast or lunch.
Free bottled water/fresh black tea made by myself/fresh coffee made by grinding beans. On the way, we will sit down and drink tea or coffee in a key cultural relics protection unit in Zhejiang Province and take a break.
There is no additional cost throughout.
If the intention is clear, you can change the activity time according to your needs. Please make clear your determination first and then discuss with me the time change. I can also change the route according to your specific needs.
During this 4 hour walk-for-fun journey, we will walk in and out quite a few of old lanes of Hangzhou, many of which came into being more than 800 years. We will also pass by two 1300-year-old rivers which flows through the downtown districts of Hangzhou and into the Grand Canal of China.
As the ending and a highlight of the journey, we will have a luncheon together at a popular local restaurant. If you are vegetarian, we could have a luncheon in one of the best vegetable buffet restaurants in Hangzhou. The vegerarian restaurant is on the bank of a 1300-old-year river.
I will also provide a cup of coffee and a bottle of black tea both I make myself.
We will have a tea-coffee break at a cultural heritage on the way.
No any extra fee.
We walk for fun. Never be hurried.

In 2017, I published "Small wind and small things visiting Hangzhou" (Zhejiang University Press). I wrote a lot of walking field trips to Hangzhou in order to write this book. I am familiar with Hangzhou's geography, history, customs, customs, and food. After this book was published, it received numerous media reports, and was invited by the social platform App "Ting Ding Dang" to produce a total of ten live video programs with the theme of Hangzhou slow travel, which was well received. At present, my exploration focus is still on the geography, history, local customs, human relations, and diet of Hangzhou.
Prior to the publication of this book, I was a senior reporter for the Shanghai Bund Illustrated for 10 years. I have interviewed many world-renowned artists, writers, travellers, and humanitarians in both Chinese and English. I have extensive experience in interviewing around the world.
I am also an amateur marathon runner who has completed nearly 50 marathons.
I am a Hangzhou-based author&marathon runner. I walked day by day in the old Hangzhou and published a book in 2017 about how to walk to find the old Hangzhou.
As a city with more than 2200 years, Hangzhou is one of the'Six Capitals of the Old China'. In the six cities, The nature and the surroundings around Hanghou is possible the most beautiful.
Hangzhou has a marvelous clture and is one of the most rich and developed Chinese cities till day.
In my contemporary writing, I am still focused on the issues of Hangzhou. I love to share my love of Hangzhou with you.

Thanks to Yan I could have much deeper understanding of Hangzhou. She not only explained about the histories lying behind the city but also how different factions or regulations shaped the current landscape. Even though my Chinese wasn't perfect she was very considerate and patient. I strongly recommend this experience to those who prefer listening to stories underlying beneath and stepping inside to the locals daily life
