About your host
Hi there, my name is Jane and I have been living in Guangzhou for the past ten years. I have lived in LA, grew up in Amsterdam and have a passion for everything that is artistic and cultural. My husband Ben is a fifth generation protector of the national Cultural Heritage Cantonese Lion Dance.

Did you know that the Cantonese Lion is an important part of Chinese culture? It is considered to be a mythical animal that casts away evil and brings good luck! Two dancers who are covered with the lion mask and a robe form a Cantonese lion. In this costume they do specific acrobatic movements to the beats of the Cantonese Drum.

Experiencing the heritage of places is enriching and makes traveling memorable. Doing a Cantonese Lion Dance Experience with us will take you inside a new world! Our experiences are a fun way to learn about the Cantonese culture, especially since we are located right in the most ancient part of the city.

We are 5th generation Cantonese Lion Dancers that are active in protecting, researching, educating and promoting this ancient folklore art form. Through our art we also enjoy making new friends from all over the world.
