What you'll do

While the group sits together in his canal narrowboat on the South Oxford Canal, Jeff will very briefly outline the history of the canal network, the Oxford Canal, and some of the history of boating on English canals. Jeff will then share with you some teachings on silence and mindfulness. The day will offer you more than teaching: Jeff will invite you to actively participate in mindfulness practices, namely awareness of breathing, sitting, eating, and (if the weather allows) walking - on a pathway in the beautiful countryside around Cropredy, Oxfordshire. Jeff will also briefly share some of the interesting history of Cropredy village.
Mindfulness connects us with ourselves and with each other. Practising mindfulness together creates a meaningful human connection. Aboard his boat, Jeff will make you feel welcomed and recognised. You will have the opportunity to share your own experiences/interests in mindfulness and silence (but there is no obligation to do so). Finally, you will be encouraged to review your lifestyle so that you can plan periods of silence and mindfulness, in order that you can live a more peaceful and insightful life.

Where you'll be

We will be on a boat moored at the lovely village of Cropredy, Oxfordshire. The Oxford Canal is beautiful and peaceful. During the industrial revolution, it was the vital artery between London and the Midlands. It is now used for leisure boating, helping people find opportunities for silent reflection.
