What you'll do

Transportation departs from a central meeting point in San Juan. The drive is 1 hour 20 minutes including a convenient 12-minute restroom break at a local fruit stand. Tropical fruits are handpicked while the group grabs a second chance at brunch. Local foods (fruit smoothies, empanadillas, grandmas cooking on take out trays.) We arrive at a secure parking area next to the river on private property. A safety briefing is conducted and we head upstream for a rustic adventurous river hike in the backwoods of El Yunque Rainforest. This Hiking experience is ideal for thrill-seekers, nature lovers, photography enthusiasts. We start hiking the river bed for a 45-minute aggressive hike to reach the 1st main attraction at a deep natural pool. You'll find a well-placed rope swing, waterfalls, and Jumps that make your heart race. The hike continues to a 2nd deep waterhole with a natural water slide and higher jumps. A tropical fruit spread is offered to clients as part of the tour so guests don't get "hangry" around lunchtime. Your guide will be giving clear instructions throughout the tour on safety, coaching guests through obstacles, interpreting plant species, Rainforest dynamics, and helping with Photography and personalized videography.

Where you'll be

At El Yunque Rainforest frequent rains plump up a lush array of green plants with big elephant ear leaves. Tall and thick bamboo reaches surprising heights. Flowers and tropical colors are stunning everywhere. The rain feeds cascades, waterfalls, waterholes flowing clean and clear down the mountainside. Thrill-seekers can swing, slide, jump, swim and climb. Some opt to just relax in the natural pools and take lots of pictures.
