What you'll do

Let me show you a different Mexico! Prior knowledge of drawing is NOT required, I'll guide you through the whole process. Ideal for solo travelers, groups, couples, families, everyone is welcome!
You'll experience the life in Mexico City with a local, knowing about it's biuldings, it's history and people. Come and discover the joy of drawing outdoors, observe and draw your own vision of Mexico City!

You can choose the main spot for your tour:
-- Templo Mayor Museum + 2 other spots: Choose this one if you enjoy the beauty of archaeological pieces.
or
-- Mexican Folk Art Museum + 2 other spots: Pick this one if you are interested in Traditional Mexican Art.

We will draw some pieces from the museum you choose to visit on our sketchbook using some simple drawing techniques that I'll teach you. You will learn about patterns and as a plus, I'll show you some basic Lettering concepts that will allow you to complete your own travel journal! And while you draw, I'll tell you some historic facts about the places we visit.
We will also practice some basics of architectural sketching and we will enjoy a drink sitting on a terrace in the heart of the City Center!
By the end of the course, you'll own a travel journal full of memories made it by YOU of your visit to Mexico City, ready to be taken home!

I'm Mexican, I have a degree in Graphic Design and I've been working in Illustration for over 7 years. I love my culture as much as I love teaching and doing these 2 things together through drawing is just incredible. I'd like to welcome you, show you my city in a fun and different way while you develop your drawing skills!

My mom and I took our first trip to Mexico City and decided to take the sketching tour with Erika. From first meeting she was absolutely wonderful. She took us to a few different spots to sketch, was very knowledgeable and gave us manageable directions- (I haven’t sketched in years but my mom is an artist) so at first I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was great way to see things you wouldn’t necessarily see. Definitely recommend!

I really enjoyed the lesson so I took another lesson. After the first lesson, what I wanted to draw got clearer. In the second lesson, I could practice lots of drawing like people and architectures while I got great advice from her. I’d like to take a lesson again when I travel to CDMX.

Had great experience in CDMX. Highly recommend this experience. She taught me not only drawing techniques but also the history and background of art. I wanted to draw during my trip so I chose the lesson. Before and during the lessons, I explained to her what I want to draw like people and architectures and how I can improve, and she gave me great advice! We went to a museum and drew animals, tile patterns etc.

Wonderful tour with Erika. We have drawn several creepy creatures and mythical deities that allowed to contemplate a bit of culture from completely different angle. Highly appreciate and recommend!

Drawing with Erika around CDMX was a fu experience. She has an illustration background so she can guide you at seeing the figures. There are a few places she will take you, she knows the history and will show you some of her favorites. There is quite a nice treat at the end of the day! If you’re looking for a unique experience and have no experience drawing this can be a good intro to the city. As well if you do have experience drawing you can get a lot out of it, you’ll feel like VIP.
