What you'll do

When we tell people we ride in Hollywood, the normal response is "are you crazy?". Truly, riding in and around Hollywood provides some of the best opportunities to #RideLikeaLocal and experience more than a simple bike ride.

This experience with VeloGuide starts right in the heart of Hollywood, below the sign. The cool things about riding with a local is that you will discover the best back roads in and around the Hollywood Hills and Griffith Park. There are so many little inlets and side streets that wind up the various hills. This gives good climbing and great views right in the middle of the city.

This is one of the local go-to rides that incorporates a loop through Griffith Park, from the Pony Rides past the Zoo and up Trash Truck Hill to the gate on Mt. Hollywood Way. A car-free climb to the summit of Mt. Hollywood leads to a beautiful car-free descent to the Griffith Observatory with views over all of Los Angeles. Depending on the speed of the group, we can add a few extra twists and turns to this Hollywood cycling adventure.

We spend a lot of time in California. If you find yourself in LA or Hollywood and want to experience riding a bike like a local, we have several amazing VeloGuides who offer this incredible experience.

We understand that when visiting a big city like LA, getting out on a road bike ride can be overwhelming. Traffic, safe routes, fear of getting lost and finding a bike can make the idea a non-starter. Stephen, Nick, Paula, and Sholom will take all the guesswork out of it and you will truly be able to #ridelikealocal. Their local knowledge and love of cycling make this experience unique!

About VeloGuide. VeloGuide was formally launched in October 2017 as a bold new initiative to connect the travelling cyclist with a bike and a guide all across the globe. We are excited to be part of the Airbnb experiences community.

An amazing experience with Nick. He really customized the route to fit my fitness level so that I felt safe and yet inspired by the ride itself. The views were amazing and I left feeling an inner peace and my mind decluttered. He was patient with me as I tried pushing past my comfort level and encouraged me with a friendly approach that made me want to dig deep for my beast mode! He had great local knowledge and cool tips on how to maneuver my bike better to have a smoother and more enjoyable ride. There was lots of beautiful scenery and Nick stayed aware of our surroundings at all times, which made me feel at ease and safe in a hectic city like Los Angeles. Overall, it was an experience beyond what I expected and I would love to ride with him again!
