What you'll do
During this workshop, you will learn the basic principles of sewing and become familiar with a sewing machine. Even if you’ve never used a sewing machine before, we will take you through each step for you to become familiar with basic techniques. By the end of the class, you will have a finished project to show everyone! Each step of the process will be explained, then reinforced, starting with sewing a straight line, to slightly more advanced construction techniques. You only need to bring yourself. All supplies and equipment will be provided.
Sarah and Caroline are the co-founder of C+C Sewing Co. We are both enthusiast about sewing and sharing our passion. Sarah is a fourth-generation quilter who began by learning the traditional forms of quilting, but was influenced in the expansion of the Modern Quilting movement. She is a Past President of the Orlando Modern Quilt Guild, a kids and adults sewing instructor. Recently, she was named as the recipient of the Quilting Excellence Award at QuiltCon 2019 in Nashville. From a very young age, Caroline Garnier has been playing with fiber, whether sewing or knitting, learning from her grand-mothers, or feeling a great connection with her great aunt, known for her delicate work. she is a firm believer that playing with fabric and exploring your creativity is a great remedy for the soul.

Where you'll be
Factur is a Makerspace in the downtown Orlando area known as Ivanhoe Village, near Mills50. We are a member-based, co-working space that serves as a creative home in which people learn, create and share. Factur is many things. We are a classroom, both formal and informal.
