I have lived in the Provo area since 2007 as well as from 2000 to 2005. I am a history buff and have learned the history of the area through studying history, reading local newspapers, 40 years of attendance at the most common local religious denomination (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, AKA Mormons) whose history is intertwined with the area, and visiting the local museums. I have over 10 years of professional experience making presentations to groups.

Where you'll be

The view of the valley from the Y on the mountain is breathtaking. Near the Y on the mountain, I will share with you the unique history of the area and answer any questions you may have. The hike is 2.2 miles round trip. 1.1 miles uphill and then 1.1 miles downhill. While you do not need to be an experienced hiker to make the trip, this hike is not for those who never walk or exercise.

Great hike with the pups. Russ was super friendly and shared the history, geography and culture of the area, as well as some background of the Church of LDS. You could easily go to this trail on your own, but you wouldnt get the history or knowledge of all the landmarks out in the distance.

This is a great hike, and we had a really good time! Russ gives you a history of the area, and some fun facts. He is great about answering questions, and showing you landmarks below in town. It is family and dog friendly. He even brought snacks! It's a great way to spend a morning!
