We'll be at the London Cloth Company mill in Epping Forest. Based within former WWII army barracks, the 2,600-square-foot space is jam-packed with restored weaving machinery, reams of cloth, and hundreds of cones of colorful yarns.

Our welcome with Daniel was super warm and inviting. He is full of information about weaving and passionate about what he does. Our day was so much fun, included a delicious home made lunch and to top it off we wove our own scarf. Highly recommend this experience.

Just a great relaxed day in a fantastic workshop with amazing looms from all periods and gorgeous fabrics that have been produced there. Daniel gave us a brief and interesting history of weaving through the ages, then let us loose on a loom to weave our scarves. I would love to do it again.

A wholly enjoyable and educational day; the trip to the farm at lunchtime was a surprise treat although I don’t know if I can eat chicken now I’ve held one. Weaving on one of Daniel’s looms was the highlight of the experience. To sum up, a fascinating insight into a slice of English eccentricity.

This Experience was the perfect opportunity for my husband and myself, as fiber enthusiasts and knitters, as well as his love of mechanical things. Daniel's passion comes through in all he does (and he is a good cook--lunch was great!). I wa a bit nervous at first when it came to working the machine, but Daniel was an attentive instructor and in a very short time I was relatively comfortable, with him at my side to help fix mistakes. Leaving with scarves we made on the loom is a wonderful reminder of our afternoon and will be treasured for many years to come. We wholeheartedly recommend you add this Experience to your time in London!

What a great day we had at the London Cloth Company. When we got there it was quite hard to get in but worth the effort. Daniel & Beth had got birthday cake for Julie as this was a birthday treat. Daniel told us about all the interesting machines, how he had put them together & how they worked. Then a man arrived with a metal pole & more random people turned up during the day including a boy who had been mountain climbing. Then Daniel told us about the history of weaving which was very informative. I think most of it was true. After that we had homemade soup for lunch & while two people made scarves we put the metal pole into the loom before we did ours. The Daniel took us on a walk down to the 'farm', no animals just cars! Daniel had a special coffee, a kind of Essexpresso, lots of milk, lovely on a cold day. Finally we got to make our scarves which was just great picking the colours, putting the yarn onto bobbins & choosing how to weave them into the fabric on the shuttle loom. The whole experience was totally brilliant. We had fish & chips on the way home & I went to jazz club in the evening. A perfect day so many many thanks to Daniel & Beth.

DO THIS - I would recommend that everyone and their mother sign up for this experience! Daniel was a highly knowledgeable host with a fun and full day planned for us. We learned about Daniel's business and studio space, a brief history of power looms, and then it was all topped off by getting to weave on his loom! The scarf we created will be a great reminder of a fantastic day!
