What you'll do

Our activity begins with the presentation of the boat and its parts. Following are instructions on the Olympic rowing technique. Together we put the boat in the water. For those first on an Olympic boat the instruction may extend a little further until there is a better understanding. Our first destination will be Palacio da Alvorada. The sight of the architectural lines designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer give the exact dimension of the cultural importance of the city! We follow the bank towards the JK bridge, or go straight to the dam that forms Lake Paranoá. Together we will decide one of the destinations! Every half hour we stop to observe the city and do the hydration. After 60 minutes of rowing we will make the stop to dive and rest for a few moments. Back on the boat we return to the Club across the lake at its widest stretch. At the Club we took the boat out of the water and kept the oars. Exhausted and happy to experience the city from a different angle. The total activity time will be three hours, two hours on board, and one hour to launch and remove the boat from the water.

André

I am founder of the Brasilia Rowing Club. I practice Olympic rowing from childhood, when my father was a coach of a city team. Journalist and Physical Educator, I have been teaching rowing sports for ten years. Among the various boats of the Club stand out the Yole to 8, the Four Skiff and the Duble Skiff. Boats used in this proposed experiment. It is with them that I provide a unique view of Brasilia.
