What you'll do

Meet me at Bicycle Sport Shop on South Lamar. I'll make sure your bike and helmet fit and that you know how to use them. We'll go over safe braking and shifting gears. Then, we'll learn a little about our route and both the formal and informal rules of the road. Then, we'll set out in search of Austin's bountiful outdoor artistic, natural and cultural offerings. We'll bike at a chill pace from iconic spot to spot, never more than a couple miles at a time before stopping to learn something new and take photos. Along the way you'll get to see many of Austin's most famous landmarks as well as take a deeper dive into a local's eye view of Austin's food truck parks, breweries, murals, hidden gems and best of nature! You'll end up where you started with time to rest and refresh yourself before dinner.

Your host

Ryan

Ryan

I'm a native Texan, professional tour guide and avid cyclist! I've worked as a taxi driver and bicycle messenger for years and know Austin's streets better than anyone! I'm bootstrapping a travel company that takes student groups to Cuba and I've led many of those groups. Ages ago I lived and worked as a mountain bike guide in Antigua, Guatemala. I've also led tours in California and Panama.
