My brother, my son and I found a common interest in Blacksmithing as part of historical communities. We attended some introductory courses with senior smiths in Canada and Italy. What we’ll do

All experiences can be customized to someone's personal interests. It will be informative and fun. Basic and minimum would be 2 hours but can be expanded for more time or people. In the basic starter experience you will get a basic introduction to blacksmithing. You will begin as all smiths and ignite the traditional coal forge. What I’ll provide

Snacks and Other
Meal break; could bring your own, sit and chat or run to the pub, next town a few minutes away and you could buy something.. Basic refreshments as Smithing can be a cold pursuit in winter or very hot in summer.
Equipment
All specialised tools and equipment for smithing. There are also a selection of recovered historic artifacts used as guides.

What to bring

Seasonal appropriate clothing as the forge is not insulated or air condition but we will be inside. All special safety gear will be provided.

Where you'll be

Your experience will take place at an authentic coal forge in Brigus South along the Southern Shore. At the forge there are all the tools needed to do your project along with an unmatched view in this small historic village. The main anvil in use was donated by the Memorial University of Newfoundland Archaeology department and they received it from the family who operated the historic forge in Kingsman Cove.
