About your host

I am a botanist with almost 30 years of teaching and research experience. I have taught biological sciences at the secondary and tertiary levels and run workshops in Pakistan, Kenya, USA, Chile and Australia. I left an academic career to pursue my passion in art, botany, gardening and to live in the beautiful community of Collinsvale (Tasmania). I teach both botany and art to the general public…

What we’ll do

You will be welcomed by Tanya, a free-lance botanist and artist. You will find yourself surrounded by nature and botanically-inspired arts & crafts. You will learn about the different groups of plants, parts of a plant, life cycle and general growth requirements. Tanya will have plenty of specimens for you to examine. You will gain a deeper understanding of botany and an appreciation of plants…

What else you should know

Prior botanical knowledge is not required. We have two cats, one of whom enjoys meeting guests but can be kept away if you prefer.
