Sajid! What an amazing guide. Someone who not only connects you to Shimla, but also truly connects with you. He is one of those rare people striving to preserve the lost art of tour guiding in the age of IG and YouTube.
This wasn’t a heritage walk from a tourist’s perspective, it felt like seeing Shimla through a local’s lens. He took us through his childhood lanes, the grounds where they used to play, the tea shops they once hung out at, and so many stories you’d never find online.
He didn’t just guide us during the walk; throughout our time in Shimla, he went above and beyond, helping with restaurant recommendations, places to visit, and even supporting us while we were heading out of Shimla.
The walk itself was around 5 km, but honestly, it never felt like one. Time just flew.
