For fans of architecture, construction, and behind the scenes knowledge this is a special tour. Hiroaki and his aide led us through the construction of Tokyo Skytree with photos that he took while construction was on going. Being able to see what the site looked like during construction next to its present day condition was incredible. He shared with us history, fun facts about the building, construction techniques, and a story about experiencing an earthquake at 400m in the air.
We began the tour at 3pm and ended right around 5pm. As we made our way up to the first observation deck the sun began to set and the beauty of the city truly revealed itself. Additionally, clear skies allowed us a stunning view of Mt. Fuji. As we walked around the observation deck the different neighborhoods that we'd visited were pointed out to us.
For those that want to learn the construction history of Tokyo Skytree I definitely recommend this tour!
