About your host

I have been fish printing for over a year, and painting since it I was a young adult. Fish printing is an 1800s Japanese tradition used to record and commemorate a fisherman’s catch while still being able to utilize the fish for its meat afterward. We capture an image of their size, shape, surface texture, and delicate scale patterns on fabric with black acrylic paint. You can join in on painting…

What we’ll do

The fish can be caught by the guest, or I can provide one. I can meet at the dock, marina, or the Mt. Pleasant Pier. The fish will be dried, painted with black acrylic paint, and printed by the guest while I guide them through it. The fish will be delicately pressed, and printed on rice paper.

What I’ll provide

Equipment
Paint, fabric, painting brushes, rice paper, salt, materials, and a fish if needed.

What to bring

A fish that they would like to commemorate, or I can also provide one.
