What we’ll do

A photo can be revealing and serve as a portal into our ever-unfolding life narrative. I will lead you through this art form of taking and integrating photos with writing in a journal, as a way to find stillness in the midst of life's transitions, and to see below the surface of experience. I will guide you through various aspects of the practice and include meditations to begin and end the…

What else you should know

You may contact me to discuss your particular interests, or area of focus. This workshop is dynamic and tailored to meet your specific interests. It has attracted artists, writers, and people who would like to learn a new artistic and spiritual practice to integrate in their daily life.

What I’ll provide

Food
A delicious snack, selection of drinks, tea/coffee, included. I can recommend dinner and lunch spots, in walking distance.
Creative supplies
Participants bring their own camera or iPhone. My studio is fully equipped with professional art supplies, printer, and is on the 1st floor of my house. Instruction includes writing prompts, such as "How does the image reflect my inner landscape?"

What to bring

Walking shoes, and a jacket are recommended, if you would like to venture out to photograph this picturesque garden setting and seaside town. You do not need a sophisticated camera- iPhone is sufficient. I supply a blank journal.
You may bring photographs with you (on phone or printed), for inspiration, but it is not necessary.

Where you'll be

We will meet in my private art studio, set in a 1840 Sea Captain's home, which overlooks yard with abundant fruit trees, and perennial beds, just a block from where the Merrimack River meets the ocean. Weather permitting, participants can go on a photographic exploration outdoors in this historic setting by the sea. I encourage you to build into your day a trip to the beaches and wildlife sanctuary, on Plum Island, to just be still.
