AfricaNola's mission is to preserve and share the cultural connections between West Africa, the Caribbean, and New Orleans which have been richly intertwined in our cities heritage for the past 300 years. Since our inception in 2007 we have organized multiple festivals, workshops, classes,etc. & have performed throughout the region at festivals, nite clubs, schools,and community centers.

In depth historical background of Congo Square/Armstrong Park as we walk thru the park focusing on New Orleans AfroCaribbean heritage, its influence on jazz, brass bands, Mardi Gras Indians.etc. and how AfroCaribbean drum and dance are still a big part of present day New Orleans culture.
