What you'll do
Start your day with the author of the book "The Breath of Cuba," for coffee at a local cafe. After getting to know each other a bit, we will go directly to see the local Afro-Cuban ballet in action during a rehearsal or performance to see your instructors in their work environment. (All of your instructors will be members of the National Afro-Cuban ballet) You will have the opportunity to learn the basics of both the music and the dance of salsa, cha cha cha, rhumba or the folkloric dance/drum tradition of their religion. You will have a class before lunch, and a class after lunch. Lunch will be at an award winning, world famous palador, dining with the Author of The Breath of Cuba. During lunch you will have an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the inner workings of the Cuban culture and how life works on a day to day basis. After your afternoon music or dance class, join Cheri and friends for a beautiful sunset mojito or pina colada looking over Trinidad at the Casa de Musica, and practice your moves with our friends here.
