What you'll do
From Jakarta, Bogor can be reached for about one hour. When the Dutch colonialism era, Bogor is a capital city of Indonesia. There is a special craft in Bogor that makes this city more unique. It is wayang golek.
Wayang golek is one of the most popular wood puppets in West Java. I will bring you to the wayang golek craftsman studio. You will listen to the history and culture of wayang golek in Bogor. Then, you will learn how to make wayang golek which has a long process. You will paint your own wayang golek and play with colours. Of course, you can bring your wayang golek home later. If we have time, we can play gamelan music together. It is a traditional musical accompaniment for wayang golek performance.

Where you'll be
We will conduct the workshop in a tiny house of wayang golek local craftsman. It is around 20 minutes from Bogor Station. A lot of wayang golek models are displayed as your inspiration to make your own wayang golek. We will play gamelan music instrument after making wayang golek.
