What you'll do
The Chicago Pedway is a series of walkways that connect buildings to each other so we don't have to go outside, brilliance! The best part is, even the most seasoned natives don't understand the pedway. It is a mystery to most who encounter it. Our tour starts at the lovely Fairmont Hotel and then we'll slide underneath it all to the Aqua Building (currently the tallest building in the world designed by a woman-led firm) and sneak underneath the Swissotel too. We'll wander through historic Marshall Fields/Macy's building and its million-piece Tiffany ceiling (it'll knock your socks off!) and we'll check out a cool film location from the Dark Knight. We'll also be wandering nearly-empty office buildings, where normally there are many people, on Saturdays, it's quiet, almost apocalyptic in places, sometimes we're the only people in the Pedway! If you like being in places where most are not, you'll love this part. We'll learn about the Pedway too, how it works, how to use it later in your trip if you need it and we'll pour over the map and decode confusing symbols, it's so fun. While everyone else meanders around above, we'll explore this unknown world below. Stealthy. Warm. Dry. And strange. Just like we like it.
I'm Margaret, tour guide, improv comedian and a life-long Chicagoan who loves this city just about better than anything. I've lived in other cities, but I always come home. Chicago is the greatest city in the world. I have my own tour business and I've been giving award-winning walking tours in Chicago for eight years. I do it all, architecture, history, culture! But I do have a specialty, around here I'm known as "The Pedway Lady," yes, that's right, I am a Pedway nerd and the best one to show you this weird piece of Chicago infrastructure.

Where you'll be
We will be in Chicago's Loop, close to the Art Insitute, Cultural Center and Millennium Park, but the best part is, we'll be walking UNDERNEATH all of those space. We'll be walking about a mile at an easy pace. Keep in mind the tour ends a few blocks away from where it starts!
Things to keep in mind
For a full refund, cancel at least 7 days before the experience is scheduled to start or within 24 hours of purchase.
Always communicate through Airbnb. To protect your payment, never transfer money or communicate outside the Airbnb website or app.
Up to 6 guests ages 18 and up can attend. The Pedway is filled with escalators and stairs and elevators and revolving doors and it's about a mile of walking. Once the tour starts, as a courtesy to my guests, I do turn off my phone. If you are running…
You’ll need to take a picture of yourself that matches the photo on your ID. This is so Airbnb can confirm who’s actually going on the experience. You’ll only have to do this once.
The Pedway is (mostly!) nice, nothing to be afraid of, but keep in mind there are stairs, escalators & revolving doors. The tour does not end where it starts, tours end at State & Randolph.
