About your host

After studying History and Philosophy in Paris, I have been directing and editing documentaries for the past 10 years, exploring the history of World War II and how it has collided with individual destinies through Eastern Europe. When I'm not grantwriting or editing a documentary, I love to solve math puzzles, and to disagree about politics around a dinner table.

What we’ll do

We will meet in the heart of the "Pletzl", Paris' oldest and most vibrant Jewish quarter, dating back to the middle ages. Using some rare archives, we will travel through history, from the Nineteenth Century, when France was a safe haven for jews , through World War II, and up to today. Our tour will take us inside the secrets of the "Pletzl" - to a community café for the last jewish residents…

What else you should know

This tour will involve a moderate amount of walking. We will face some of the dark sides of French history, but also experience some of the most festive aspects of yiddish culture.
