Hello! My name is Amrita, and I am a printmaker, with a background in Social Anthropology. I have trained and worked closely under a master printmaker in Kolkata for over 5 years, whose studio I host this experience in. What we’ll do

Make your own edition of Kalighat-inspired woodcut prints! You will be learning the basics of the style of woodcut practised in 19th-century Calcutta. It is a very exciting printmaking technique which involves carving an image on a block of wood and taking its impression on paper (or cloth), using a traditional etching press, and also by hand.
