I had an amazing time with Maite learning about the art, tapestry, and embroidery from each state of Mexico. She gave me a fantastic tour of the museum, where she demonstrated her passion and knowledge of the subject. We then went to a beautiful cafe where I learnt how to make my own embroidery. Maite gave me some great recommendations of things to do in the area, and shops to visit so I can buy my own supplies! I had a lovely afternoon and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting!

Booked this experience as part of a bachelorette trip, and Maite was wonderful! So knowledgeable, kind, and accommodating. After teaching us about textiles, she helped us embroider a group project for the bride, as well as individual pouches. Many said it was one of their favorite activities from the trip (one person has already purchased embroidery thread). 1000% recommend!

This experience is a must for anyone into crafting and/or textiles. Even if you have to leave your friends to do it alone, as I did. Maite's tour of the museum was wonderful. I wanted to write down every word she said it was so interesting. I gained such an insight into the regions of Mexico and their clothes, native materials and uses, and the meanings behind the different embroidery. Then then crafting section at the cafe was so fun, and Maite gave us the perfect amount of freedom and assistance! I love my (perfectly imperfect) little embroidered heart!

Such an incredible experience! Maite was so welcoming, informative, and very accommodating when a knee injury started slowing me down a bit into the tour. I realized I’ve not really had a guide for a museum tour, and it made such a difference vs. reading descriptions on the displays and just briefly looking. Maite really made the information so engaging and is a wonderful storyteller of the history from start to end. And as if the tour wasn’t wonderful enough, the dedicated time to learning to embroider was so special. Maite chooses a peaceful artistic location to embroider together, and it was such a peaceful experience. So glad I slowed down a faster pace trip to Mexico City to really learn about the country’s history through the lense of textiles, and went home with a new skill and interest. Definitely recommend!
