This Ryan here with another wonderful workshop at the Osaka Makerspace. I'm the resident craftsman and woodworker here at the space where we do projects with our customers. Woodworking, electronics, laser-cutting and art. We've been running for about one year now and we've been able to make almost 300 different projects with our guests. What we’ll do

A long time ago the Japanese used to use a cup to measure out things you'd buy at a store. This cup was square and made from a special wood called "Hinoki" (Japanese False Cypress) It was called "masu" and the quantity was equal to one days portion of rice. Later the cup would come to be used as a vessel to drink cold sake. The corners were made using "finger joints" and the whole thing was glued…
