What we’ll do

By the end of this course each person will leave with a spoon made from freshly cut wood, carved by their own hands using traditional wood carving techniques! First things first, we will begin how to carve safely and practice some of the most useful cuts. Once we are feeling comfortable with this, we will look at some different local woods, learning about where they come from and what are the…

Carving is a very safe activity when you are doing it right! The first thing we will learn is how to carve safely and this is a skill that will be useful for any kind of future wood working hobbies!

Where you'll be

The workshop will take place in Isotop Fellesatelier in the centre of Bergen city. This building houses 24 artists working accross photography, ceramics, print and dance, as well as a shop, KIOSKEN, selling work by local artists and designers, and Pamflett, a small publishing house focusing on graphic novels and fanzines. The workshop will be held in our project room, a large open space next to our wood and print workshops.
