As this is a 4-hour walking tour, we will visit around 20 locations in the centre of the city of Inverness which “speak to” the history of the capital of the Highlands over the last 800 years. Whether you are interested in history, social history, folklore or simply the lives of the people of the Scottish Highlands, by visiting these locations you will gain an insight into the history of this…

During our tour there are ample locations for comfort breaks and we will stop for coffee at a time of your suiting. We will walk at the pace of the slowest member of the group.

Where you'll be

We will visit 1) the Old High Parish Church and the Cathedral and if open you can wander round and enjoy the history of the buildings. 2) the famous Leakey’s Bookshop housing 100,000 books in a building dating from the early 18th century 3) the grounds of Inverness Castle from where on a clear day we can admire the whole panorama of the city and surrounding area. and travel through the streets and across the bridges in the heart of the old town.
